We have released an upgrade to the Outlook, Alpha and W21 skins, fixing small user interface issues that affected the Internet Explorer users. The upgraded versions of the skins are available in the customer area.
Outlook, Alpha and W21 upgraded
cPanel compatibility upgrade
We have just released a new version of our skins and plugins that focuses on compatibility with the latest version of cPanel. As you may know, Roundcube under cPanel runs in a special environment that limits some of its functionality: cPanel blocks some sound and image formats, puts Roundcube in an iframe, and removes the header bar from the top of the page. All those restrictions create functionality problems under some browsers. This latest upgrade fixes a number of issues that the skin and plugin had with the user interface. We encourage you to upgrade your Roundcube Plus software if you use your webmail under cPanel.
Compatible with Roundcube 1.2.5
As you may have noticed, the Roundcube team has just released an ugrade to version 1.2.5. The new release adds a few UI fixes and a security fix for the password plugin. Our current skins and plugins are fully compatible with this latest Roundcube version.
Skin and Plugin Upgrade--New Functionality and Fixes
We have released a new version of the skins and plugins that introduces some new functionality and a lot of fixes. Here are a few outlines:
- We added a publishing option to the calendar: you can now include the events from your Roundcube calendar in other calendars. The calendar plugin also got some functionality and UI fixes.
- The problems with loading the Google Drive and Dropbox plugins were fixed.
- The skins got improved support for mobile devices running Windows Phone and some UI fixes.
The upgraded software packages are available for download in the customer area of our website.
Upgrade and more customization options
We're happy to announce that we've released a new skin and plugin upgrade that introduces a lot of new customization options and prepares the software for the upcoming major Roundcube upgrade to version 1.3 (currently in beta.)
The calendar plugin got some new config options where you can specify the allowed email domains for calendar sharing, or turn off sharing and publishing altogether. Importing calendar events from messages got fixed, and the Italian translation was added.
Skins got a lot of new custom options as well. It's now possible to change the hero images right in the config file and overwrite the skin css styles by setting links to external files! This means that you can easily customize the design of your skins by using your own css files without needing to modify the originals. You'll never have to re-apply your design changes again after you upgrade the skins; now your customizations are stored in separate files.
The new software is available in the customer area for clients with active licenses.
Skins upgraded: fixing cPanel problems
We've released a new version of the Roundcube Plus skins that fix problems with loading Google fonts under the latest version of cPanel. If you noticed that your skin's fonts don't look right under your cPanel installation, you should upgrade to fix the problem. cPanel filters the css files before serving them and removes all double slashes, which causes problems when importing remote content.
cPanel changes the font urls from this:
https://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Roboto
to this:
https:/fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Roboto
With a single instead of a double slash after https, the font won't load properly. The upgraded versions of the skins that fix this problem are available for download in our customer area.

Upgrade to the skins and the weather plugin
We've just released a new version of our software that includes fixes to the skins and the weather plugin. We've fixed the problems with attachment menus on mobile devices and the styling on the logout pages. The weather plugin got an architecture overhaul. We have routed the API requests to the weather service through the local Roundcube server to eliminate the problems with connecting to a non-secure API from an SSL-enabled Roundcube installation. We've also fixed a number of data retrieval and display problems.
The new skins and plugins are available for download in the customer area of our website.
Plugin and skin maintenance upgrade
We're pleased to announce that we've just released the latest version of the plugin and skin packages. The changes include mainly bug fixes, user interface fixes and feature improvements.
The plugins specifically targetted with this upgrade include the Calendar and the Signature, but we've also upgraded the framework and skin plugins, which affect all Roundcube Plus plugins and skins.
The upgraded software is available in the customer area.
Skins and Plugins compatible with Roundcube 1.3.1
As you may have noticed, the Roundcube team released a new version of their software yesterday (version 1.3.1). All our skins and plugins are fullly compatible with this new release.
Version 1.3.1 is a long-term release which fixes a number of bugs, a potential XSS vulnerability and optimizes the program to run on the latest version of PHP. It's highly recommended that you upgrade all productive installations to this latest version.
The complete list of fixes is available here: https://github.com/roundcube/roundcubemail/releases/tag/1.3.1
A New Year Upgrade
We have just released the first software upgrade this year! It's a minor upgrade that fixes some issues and bugs in several of our plugins. The new version of the software is available in our customer area. Happy New Year!
Preparing For The Roundcube Elastic Skin
As you may have heard, the Roundcube team is developing a new skin called Elastic. The skin will be responsive and will be usable on desktop devices, tablets and phones. It's still in the works and it will take some time before it's released, but we'd like our plugins to be fully compatible with Elastic as soon as it's ready. We started upgrading the plugins to make sure they work with both the current Larry skin, the Roundcube Plus skins and the new Elastic skin.
It will take some creative work to make sure the plugins are versitile enough to work with all the skin variations our curstomers would like to use, but the work is going well, and we're confident we'll have the plugins ready by the time Elastic is released.
Here are some development screenshots:
A New Upgrade: Postgres and Elastic
We're happy to announce the release of a major software upgrade that introduces a number of new features and fixes a lot of reported problems!
Postgres Support
All of our plugins are now fully compatible with Postgres! With this upgrade, our software can be deployed on the three most popular database systems supported by Roundcube: SQLite, MySQL, and Postgres.
Elastic Support
We've upgraded all the plugins to be compatible with the new Roundcube skin: Elastic. Elastic will most likely be released with the next major version of Roundcube.
This change required a lot of work to implement, but by re-writing our plugins ahead of time we're making sure they'll be usable as soon as Elastic gets released. This way our clients won't have to wait to upgrade to Roundcube 1.4 on the account of incompatible plugins.
Highlights of Other Changes
We fixed a lot of issues with the calendar; some of those fixes were security-related, so we encourage you to upgrade your calendar plugin as soon as possible.
The skins got full support for the Thunderbird Labels plugin, as well as a number of UI fixes.
We added date and time logging to the Last Login plugin in order to improve account security.
The compose plugin got a new config option that makes it possible to change the font family of the plain text composition window.
Another new config option enables the admins to set the default visibility of the right sidebar.
The News Feed's list of predefined RSS channels got cleaned up and brought up to date.
New Skins in the Works
We're in the process of creating a new set of skins that are based on the upcoming Elastic skin. The new skins will be fully responsive and they'll have some exiting new features as well.
Besides enjoying the improved looks of the webmail, the users will be able to customize the skins on the new "Look & Feel" page. They'll be able to select one of the four available icon sets; make the font larger or smaller; select a font family from a predefined list, and of course, change the design colors.
Another interesting option of the new skins will be the ability to include a larger company branding. If you looked at the preview of the Elastic skin, you may have noticed that its new page layout can only accommodate a small square branding logo. There is no space for a larger logo with text that was available in the older Larry skin. Seeing that this might be a problem with some of our clients, we have designed some of our new skins to follow the traditional page layout that allows the companies to include a text-based logo.
Get Ready for CalDAV
We're also working on adding a CalDAV server to our calendar. CalDAV support will make it possible to connect external calendars like iOS Calendar, Thunderbird, Evolution or eM Client to your Roundcube calendar in write mode. Our plugin will be the only Roundcube calendar featuring this functionality.

The Calendar Plugin Upgrade
We've just released a new upgrade to the calendar and framework plugins. The calendar sharing options got updated: it's now possible to choose which users will be notified when a calendar is shared with them. A new color management system helps with assigning colors to calendars and events, and the calendar list UI got refreshed to make sure it's clearer and works properly with all the skins.
We also updated the management of the holiday calendars and fixed some reported problems. The messages displayed by the calendar have been updated and clarified: for example, the users are now notified if their shared calendars have been removed by their owners. The calendar also warns the users if they typed an email address but forgot to click 'Share' before saving the calendar. This was one of the easiest and most frustrating mistakes to make when trying to use the sharing functionality.
The framework plugin got an upgrade to its mobile definitions, as well as some minor code fixes.
The upgraded version of the plugins is available in our customer area.
Ready for Roundcube 1.3.7
A new Roundcube upgrade is available: version 1.3.7. All our skins and plugins are fully compatible with this new version, so if you're running the latest version of our software, you should be able to upgrade without any problems.
What's new in Roundcube 1.3.7? It contains several bug fixes and a security fix for the way OpenPGP is used. If you'd like to read more about this latest relese, here's the release announcement.
Compatible with Roundcube 1.3.9

Weather plugin supports GPS coordinates

If you have used our Weather plugin, you may have noticed that sometimes it had a problem with getting the weather data for some locations. For example, if you wanted to get the weather for Portland, Maine, USA, you'd always get Portland, Oregon instead. This was due to the limitations of the Openweathermap service used by our plugin, which doesn't support narrowing down the location by specify a region or a state.
The good news is that we have now fixed this annoying issue by adding a possibility to specify locations by GPS coordinates. It's simple: all you need to do is convert your location to GPS coordinates using an included link and use the latitude and longitude instead of country and city to specify your location. This system is very accurate and makes sure you always the get the correct weather data. The upgraded weather plugin is available for download in our customer area.
Roundcube Plus security upgrade
We'd like to let you know that we have released a software upgrade that includes important security fixes. If you're using the Roundcube Plus plugins we urge you to download the latest version and upgrade as soon as you can. Besides fixing the security issues, we also fixed a few UI problems, upgraded the third party libraries, added some new functionality and new translations. The file upload functions will now re-save the images to reduce their size on the server; you'll be able to give your customers a limited access to their own Roundcube configuration files; and if you're planning to upgrade to Roundcube 1.3.10 released a few days ago, you can rest assured that the skins and plugins will work properly.
Here's the list of the most important changes introduced in the latest upgrade:
- security fixes in the xsignature and xbackground plugins
- verified compatibility with Roundcube 1.3.10
- updated the upload functions to re-save the uploaded images and reduce their size
